This is an introduction to the most important elements of "harm reduction" and knowledge needed to be of high-quality assistance to Psanctuary members during sacrament services.

After completion of our eight-week training, graduates will be certified as Psanctuary Clerics. Only certified clerics will be invited to serve as support to ministers for their work within Psanctuary sacrament services. 

This is an incredible opportunity to enter the rapidly growing world of psilocybin spiritual healing. 

The certification program is 8 weeks long, beginning September 26th and ending November 23rd, 2022. 

The learning requirements are as follows:

• 5-6 Hours (1.5 hours/week) per month of asynchronous learning via online video modules and workbook learning via an online student portal.
•  6 Live Instruction and Integration Calls, rotating weekly between Mondays at 5 - 7 pm Eastern and Wednesdays at 11 am - 1 pm Eastern *attendance policy applies.
• Must attend 2 of 4 Psanctuary Sunday Services (10 am-12 pm Eastern) each month during the 8-week training program and volunteer at least once for readings during the 8-week certification.

Yes and no. Being a certified cleric means that you are eligible to serve as support to Psanctuary ministers during available sacrament services. As a cleric, you will always need to have a Psanctuary Minister with you during sacrament services.

As we are still growing as an organization, Psanctuary at this time cannot guarantee that there will be a certain number of (or any) available sacrament services for certified clerics to serve at. 

As sacrament services are scheduled we will do our absolute best to evenly distribute clerics scheduled. 

Clerics who exemplify leadership in their training or continued service with Psanctuary will be invited to apply for our 10-month Psanctuary Minister Training and Ordination Program. Only ordained ministers are permitted to lead sacrament services, and potentially open a Psanctuary Church in their locale in the future. Yes, you must be a member of Psanctuary to become certified as a Psanctuary cleric. To learn more about becoming a member, click HERE.

It's difficult to compare this training program to others for several reasons:

• As a faith based organization, we are fundamentally different than a therapeutic organization; however, the main difference in our program is the ability to grow spiritually while legally communing with sacred mushrooms and grow in experience as a cleric by legally supporting our Psanctuary members during sacrament services. Other programs that are not sincere faith-based organizations do not have this legal ability.
• Currently, other current certification programs do not allow "students" to gain experience with sacrament in any legal or protective capacity. As a certified cleric you will be invited in the first 2 years following certification to gain experience in the sacrament communion space as a part of required continuing education to maintain your certification. This can be with either Psanctuary or any other approved and partnered sacred mushroom church that honors our certification.
• We are the first Sacred Mushroom Seminary, so as of yet there are no others to compare our program to!

No. Unlike most "psychedelic" assisted certification programs, as a sincere faith-based organization Psanctuary does not require you to hold any mental health licensing or certifications to be eligible. 

Continuing education and practicum are required to obtain certified cleric status within the 2-year period following certification:

1. Documented personal communion with sacred mushrooms required: 2 'deep dive' sacred mushroom communions with the support of ministers or extraordinary minister. 
2. Volunteer practicum in service as a cleric in a minimum of 2 sacrament services (during private or group retreat) within the 2 year period. Psanctuary will have various opportunities to gain this experience - either through volunteering at a retreat for members or paying for a cleric and minister only training retreat where you would have an opportunity to receive sacrament support and an opportunity to hold sacrament support: private and group retreat price range: $400-1500 (depending on location and type of sacrament service).

3. Complete 20 hours of continuing education within 2 years of completing 8-week cleric certification program (and every 2 years after that to maintain certification). We will post links to any available asynchronous learning opportunities.
   
   1 continuing education hour = 2 hours of real-time in-person or online participation.
   
   These could be in the form of:

   • An approved in-person or online workshops, conference, or training around spiritual wellness.
   • Volunteering as a cleric during subtle sacrament gathering days.
   • Approved books and documentaries around spiritual wellness accompanied by an expository essay.
   • And more...

   In addition to what we are posting on the continuing education spreadsheet, we encourage everyone to suggest books, workshops, documentaries, trainings, and other ideas for approval via email!

All calls will be recorded and saved on your student portal. 

1. It is permissible to miss up to 2 calls during the 8 week program without further action (in accordance with the following requirements outlined in 1 and 2 below):
1. If a call is missed, students will be required to submit a written email with an explanation of the reason for missing the call.
2. If a call is missed, students are required to watch the recorded call and submit in writing a summary of what was discussed on the live call.
3. If a student misses more than 2 calls, the above is required in addition to a paid 30-minute 1:1 ($50) with Eric to make up for each call missed after the 2 initial missed calls.

Certified clerics do receive reduced rates on privately scheduled sacrament services for personal communion (lodging and meals for sacrament services in which a cleric is volunteering are always covered by Psanctuary for no additional fees besides the travel costs to get to the location) and our "comfortable lodging" group sacrament retreats. Clerics do not receive reduced rates on our group camping retreats. Reach out to us for more details!
